On Painting & Drawing:
The living world and its history is an ever changing mud of facts, assumptions, falsehoods, diversions, and mythologies. Each remarkable experience, confusing news article, recounting of a historical episode, or debate regarding myth is an opportunity for each of us to examine and re-calibrate our structure of beliefs.
On “Energetic” Works:
The world transmitted to the human mind through the usual five senses is much larger and complex that it seems. The realm of energy fuels and builds the unseen aspects of the universe. Who can quiet the mind and quiet the senses to unlock energetic perception and realization? The shaman, the artist, the madman. Kyle’s latest body of work is a record of such moments of energetic connection and emission as experienced through meditation, hypnosis, and Reiki.
Kyle Reeves, a native of rural Oklahoma, received his BFA in painting and BA in comparative religion from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA in painting from the School Of Visual Arts (NYC). The artist lives and works in Aurora, Illinois.
